Force does not constitute right... obedience
is due only to legitimate powers.
- Jean Jacques Rousseau, philosopher,
born on this day, 1712, in Geneva
Consider: In our desire to shift blame, we speak of a “God” Who exerts His/Her power to control us. But in reality, “God” never uses force. “God” never makes anyone do anything. “God” respects our freedom of heart and will.
“God” only loves unconditionally. Only to this should we give obedience.
Now that sure puts the responsibility on our shoulders – just where it should be!
