Spirituality means waking up.

Most people, even though they don't know it, are asleep.

They're born asleep,

they live asleep,

they marry in their sleep,

they die in their sleep

without ever waking up.

They never understand the loveliness and the beauty

of this thing we call human existence.

I often, in the past, thought I was “awake”. Now I know I wasn’t … “amn’t” ! I’ll be thinking about this today.

Now I have a deeper perception and insight into what the conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus was all about … and about what “being born in the spirit” means. This dynamic often called the Holy Spirit is The Great Waker-Upper”! So now I also have a different sense of what being “slain in the Spirit” means too!

As a friend of mine used to say (and I copy her often), “Ain’t Life Amazing” … though I morphed it to “Ain’t people amazing”.

I wish us all today a deeper understanding of “the loveliness and the beauty of this thing we call human existence”.
