Brian’s Reflection: Thursday, May 3, 2012

Life is an opportunity given
to satisfy the hunger and thirst of the soul.

Just think about it. A mere “three score years and ten” to achieve the full possibilities of being human. To learn how to love. To discover how “transcending the Ego” is a giddy freedom that brings utter joy. To befriend. To see yourself in every other person. To discover the peace of Silence. To learn to appreciate Simplicity in all things … including the simplicity of the human “soul”, and the Universe … and what we call “God”. To trust. To have Compassion for all things. To die well and unafraid. To laugh. To be delighted.

And to think that we wonder what we should teach children!

And to think that … if we leave it till late, as most of us do in this crazy, frantic World … we worry what we’ll do when we’re older!

The Psalmist says, “My soul longeth, yea fainteth, for the courts of the Lord”. She and Kahn touch over the centuries.
